      What The Course Offers:

       INTRODUCTION:


      We will start with a short introduction explaining why it is a good idea to use creative exercises to help you initiate an inner transformational process.


      We cover how movement, rhythm and warmth physically effects your body and brings tangible results that help you move towards inner harmony.

      THE METHOD:


      The course is based on the phenomenological self-awareness method, which calls for participants to become aware of thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations.


      In other words, the main focus both days is firmly rooted in your experience of the various drawing and painting exercises.


      Your work with a heightened sense of self-awareness is what will lead you to an increased body-mind connection.

      EXERCISES & TECHNIQUES:


      During the two days all exercises will be directed and demonstrated as a mix of:


      • Drawing large dynamic shapes to help you get moving.



      • Painting to focus your experience on sensing warm colours internally.



      • Gentle and relaxing body movements to increase your body awareness. 


      SUPPORT IN COMMUNITY:


      The course encourages introspection and self-awareness during every exercise. It is also highly recommended having a notebook to hand to record any new insights and bodily sensations that show up whilst you participate in the course. 


      Time will be allocated for sharing and group reflection. Sharing is always optional and a personal choice. However, you will benefit from hearing others share their experiences. This may resonate with or differ from your own.


      A limited number of places is offered to ensure adequate attention and help for every person. The course will therefore never run with more than 12 participants at any one time. The limited numbers also creates an intimate and supportive atmosphere amongst participants.

      A CREATIVE EXPERIENCE:


      If you are concerned that you have no previous creative or artistic experience, there is no need to worry. The techniques applied to the exercises are simple and straightforward allowing anyone to join.


      The focus is on experiencing how the exercises affect your thoughts, feelings

      and bodily sensations. 

      COURSE AIM:


      The course aim is to give you an inner experience of movement, rhythm and warmth to initiate a dynamic change within you by leading from repetition and stagnation to movement and change. 


      It is the creative process that counts - not a beautiful end result!

      Required Materials:


      In order for you to participate in this course you need large pieces of paper and graphite to draw with.

      You will also need watercolour paint, watercolour paper and brushes suitable for watercolour painting. 


      If you do not have these supplies to hand please be aware that it is not necessary to purchase expensive materials in fine artist quality. Cheap materials work just fine. 


      As long as you are able to purchase (or have) all the required materials you are good to go, as the course places emphasis on your experience as opposed to you creating a beautiful piece of art.
